Kuwaiti paper Al-Jarida reports Mojtaba Chamenei flew to Moscow via Russian military plane for treatment, with Putin offering help.
Medical Evacuation to Moscow
Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Jarida, citing sources close to Iran’s Supreme Leader, reports Mojtaba Chamenei was transported via Russian military aircraft to Moscow for treatment. He underwent a successful operation and is now in a hospital wing of a presidential residence. The source claims Vladimir Putin offered assistance during a conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian last Thursday.
Injuries from US Airstrikes
Injuries sustained in American airstrikes on the complex housing the Supreme Leader’s home and office allegedly required a well-equipped hospital and medical care unavailable in Iran.
Opposition to Succession
US intelligence determined that Ayatollah Ali Chamenei opposed a succession policy aimed at securing Iran’s supreme leadership for his son Mojtaba, as reported by CBS. The intelligence was shared with President Donald Trump and a small group of senior advisors, including Vice President J.D. Vance.
Concerns Over Mojtaba’s Fitness
Ali Chamenei’s concerns stemmed from the belief that the 56-year-old Mojtaba “is not too bright and unsuitable to be a leader.” Reports also circulated that Mojtaba had “personal life problems.”
Trump’s Public Critique
Trump confirmed being aware of this information in a Fox News interview, stating Mojtaba “is not someone his father would want” and calling him weak.
Mojtaba’s Rise to Power
Mojtaba Chamenei was appointed Iran’s Supreme Leader on March 8th after years as his father’s close aide. His father died in a February 28th Israeli missile attack initiating the US and Israel’s “Epic Fury” and “Roaring Lion” operations against Iran.
