Former Polish PM Mateusz Morawiecki will present his “Power by Poland” economic report in Warsaw on Friday, emphasizing it complements rather than contradicts PiS program.
Report Presentation
Former Prime Minister and PiS Vice President Mateusz Morawiecki assured on Thursday in Jelenia Góra that his economic report “Power by Poland,” which he intends to present, is not contrary to the PiS program. “It is its complement,” he emphasized.
Friday’s Economic Conference
Morawiecki will present his “Power by Poland” report on Friday in Warsaw. As he announced in the invitation for the presentation, it is his “strategy for building a strong Polish economy.” “Tomorrow’s economic conference is not only not in opposition to the PiS program, but is an excellent complement to it. Looking for any conflict here is absurd,” Morawiecki said in Jelenia Góra on Thursday.
Party Events Compatibility
He added that there were no pressures on him to cancel Friday’s meeting, and that it is “compatible with Saturday’s party event in Krakow.” During a party conference in the capital of Lesser Poland on Saturday, the PiS candidate for Prime Minister is to be presented.
When asked by journalists if he knows who will be that candidate, the PiS vice president replied that it is an “internal party matter.” “We talk very often with the president (Jarosław – ed.) about the development, problems of the country or security, this is topic number one,” the former prime minister noted.
Criticism of Current Government
During the meeting, Morawiecki described the current state of the country and its various areas as a “great breakdown.” In his opinion, we are dealing with it in healthcare, education and public finances. “This government is borrowing Poland a billion zlotys a day (…), when there is a lack of money, there are less expenditures for healthcare, education or military,” the former prime minister convinced.
Morawiecki also stated that what he called “VAT mafias,” broken up by him, are returning. “Fixing after these incompetents will take us at least two years,” he added. Morawiecki also spoke about foreign policy. “Here the breakdown is not visible to the naked eye. The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the current prime minister are doing everything to push the US out of Europe,” the PiS vice president assessed.
