Former Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has established a new association, “Development Plus,” attracting a significant number of current and former PiS politicians.
Morawiecki’s ‘Development Plus’ Association Formed
Mateusz Morawiecki has formally established the “Development Plus” association, aiming to foster collaboration, share experiences, and develop initiatives supporting the country’s economic and social development.
The organization is intended to function as a socio-expert structure, bringing together active politicians and individuals with influence in public life, potentially serving as an ideological or organizational base for broader actions.
Key PiS Figures Join Initiative
The membership list includes several prominent figures associated with the Law and Justice (PiS) party, including current and former government members.
Notable members include Ryszard Terlecki, Michał Dworczyk, Piotr Müller, Waldemar Buda, Marcin Horała, Olga Semeniuk-Patkowska, and Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk.
Numerous active members of parliament, such as Anna Kwiecień, Paweł Rychlik, Krzysztof Szczucki, and Mirosława Stachowiak-Różecka, are also involved, indicating the initiative’s substantial reach within the political landscape.
PiS Leadership Expresses Concerns Over Potential Division
The full scope of the project and its membership list have sparked discussion within the PiS leadership, prompting a special meeting of party officials.
Mariusz Błaszczak, a former Minister of National Defence, expressed reservations, suggesting the association could be used to fragment the political environment.
Błaszczak emphasized the importance of maintaining unity within the party and focusing on building an alternative to the current government led by Donald Tusk, arguing that parallel structures could weaken their political message.
