Morawiecki Slams Kaczyński Critics: “They Do Nothing But Criticize”

PiS ethics committee will investigate MPs who posted on X platform, with Morawiecki defending government achievements against critics.

PiS Ethics Committee to Investigate MPs

The Law and Justice (PiS) ethics committee will deal with the cases of MPs who posted on the X platform on Thursday, February 26. As reported in Gazeta.pl, this is about violating the ban on starting discussions “harmful to Poland and the entire political environment” of PiS. Law and Justice spokesman Rafał Bochenek informed about this on Friday.

Morawiecki Defends PiS Achievements

Mateusz Morawiecki, Vice President of Law and Justice and former Prime Minister, wrote on X: “I will always defend the achievements of eight years of Law and Justice governance before those who cannot do anything and only criticize.”

Morawiecki emphasized that in their policy towards the EU, all important decisions were approved by the political leadership of PiS.

Morawiecki Criticizes Patryk Jaki

On Thursday, Morawiecki criticized MEP and PiS Vice President Patryk Jaki. “Patryk, since you are now an expert and know the remedy for every problem, then tell me: how did the flagship judicial reform go? And how did your IPN law serve Poland?” Morawiecki wrote on X.

“It’s easy to criticize from the box of sneering critics, even while in government – it’s harder to take responsibility for something, even if you sometimes make mistakes. Only when you actually do something is there any chance of making them,” added the former prime minister.

Ireneusz Zyska and Mirosława Stachowiak-Różecka also published critical posts about Jaki.

Jaki’s Statement in Lublin

Morawiecki’s post was a reaction to a statement by Patryk Jaki, which was made during a meeting with students in Lublin. During the discussion, reference was made to the attitude of the PiS government towards the National Reconstruction Plan.

One participant asked, “what certainty do we have that after a change of government and the return of Law and Justice there will be no more such loans and indebtedness of the country” and “making us dependent on the European Union”?

Jaki’s Response

Jaki stated that most Law and Justice politicians have drawn lessons from the past. He emphasized that if PiS takes power again, it will act differently than during previous governments.

“The SAFE program is proof. Please see the party’s position now. This time we are firmly behaving as we should and no polls, no financial blackmail, nothing will influence us simply,” Jaki said. The Sejm adopted a law implementing the EU’s defense support program SAFE, but PiS voted against the project.
