Morawiecki’s Potential New Party Draws Double-Digit Support [Poll]

A new poll indicates that a political project led by Mateusz Morawiecki could garner 16.7% support if he were to leave PiS and form his own party.

Potential Support for Morawiecki’s Project

A poll published by “Rzeczpospolita” shows that a potential political project by Mateusz Morawiecki could count on noticeable support. Asked if they would vote for such a grouping if he were to leave PiS and establish his own party, 16.7% of respondents answered affirmatively.

61.6% of respondents were against the idea, while 21.7% had no opinion on the matter.

Demographic Breakdown of Support

The SW Research poll for rp.pl indicates that men were more willing to support a new grouping led by Morawiecki than women. In this group, the percentage of “yes” responses was 21%.

The former prime minister achieved his highest result among people between the ages of 35 and 49, where 22% of respondents would consider such a scenario. “Rzeczpospolita” also notes that support for a potential new project by Morawiecki decreased with higher levels of education.

Morawiecki would likely find the most potential voters among residents of villages and the largest cities.

Morawiecki Focuses on Association, Not a New Party

In an interview with Wirtualna Polska, Morawiecki announced the creation of an association intended to attract people disappointed with the offerings of right-wing parties. He stated that it is aimed at those who want to vote for the “patriotic camp” but do not identify with current groupings.

He clarified that this is not a prelude to building his own party.

Growing Discontent with Morawiecki Within PiS

There is reportedly growing dissatisfaction with the former head of government within PiS. Following a debate with Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz – in which Morawiecki allegedly participated without the consent of Jarosław Kaczyński – further tensions reportedly arose between factions.

The conflict was further fueled by reports that Morawiecki’s circle was in contact with people from Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s team.

Poll Released Amidst Internal PiS Tensions

The poll was published the day after a meeting between Jarosław Kaczyński and Mateusz Morawiecki. A statement from PiS spokesman Rafał Bochenek indicated that the conversation concerned the situation within the party and preparations for the next parliamentary elections.

“Rzeczpospolita” reports that the tensions and attempts to keep Morawiecki within the party’s mainstream were in the background of the meeting. The PiS chairman was also reportedly dissatisfied with an interview Morawiecki gave to Wirtualna Polska.

Methodology

The poll was conducted by SW Research between March 31 and April 1, 2026, on a group of 800 internet users over the age of 18.
