A Polish woman lost her way in the mountains of Morocco. She was able to contact a TOPR rescuer in Poland.

Polish police officers in cooperation with international services rescued the Polish tourist in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco, the police announced in a statement. According to the officers’ account, on Saturday (February 7), the woman at an altitude of 2,800 meters above sea level suffered a head injury and lost her orientation. However, she managed to contact a TOPR rescuer located in Poland.
Upon being notified, Krakow police officers and the National Police Headquarters immediately contacted the Interpol office in Rabat and the Interpol General Secretariat. Polish services determined exactly where the Polish tourist was located, thanks to which Moroccan rescuers reached the woman in a short time. “Precise determination of the location based on GPS coordinates proved key to the success of the operation,” reads the statement. The search for the missing person was continuously coordinated by duty officers of the International Cooperation Bureau of the National Police Headquarters.
Police Shared Information on Polish Woman’s Health Status
“The woman was conscious but severely chilled and unable to descend on her own. In these conditions, every minute counted,” the Polish police recounts the rescue operation. The injured Polish woman was transported to a nearby village where she received necessary assistance. Her current condition is described as good.
