The Polish Operational Command reported the incident occurred during a convoy between bases on April 18th. A mortar shell fell in close proximity to the Polish contingent of the UNIFIL mission.
The incident resulted in light damage to three vehicles. Polish forces have implemented additional safety measures and temporarily suspended convoy operations.

Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz expressed condolences to the soldier’s family. French President Macron condemned the attack, suggesting Hezbollah was responsible, and demanded the immediate arrest of those involved.
Previous UNIFIL Incidents
This is not an isolated incident. On April 12th, Israeli Defense Forces reportedly rammed an armed vehicle with a tank. On April 7th, IDF detained a UNIFIL peacekeeper after blocking a logistical convoy, releasing him an hour later.
Temporary Ceasefire in Lebanon
US President Trump announced a 10-day ceasefire in Lebanon, effective from midnight Thursday to Friday, agreed upon with Lebanese President Aoun and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu. Israeli forces reported an attack on Hezbollah militants, stating it did not violate the ceasefire.
