Civic Coalition MP Dariusz Jośni accused Matecki of publicly inciting attacks on Polish officers, lodged a criminal complaint, and labeled him a traitor, on the X social platform.
Complaint Filed Over Alleged Public Incitement
Jośni wrote on X that Matecki “publicly urged the shooting of Polish officers by foreign state services” and that it amounts to a public incitement to commit a crime, citing Article 255 of the criminal code. He stated the offense carries a penalty of up to three years’ imprisonment.
Matecki Claims Ziobro Under Investigation, Mentions ‘Shadow Hunters’
In a TV Replicja interview, Matecki said former Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobro faces more scrutiny from prosecutors than alleged foreign agents or organized crime. He also described “shadow hunters” – police specialists trained to pursue dangerous fugitives – as potential threats if Ziobro were to seek asylum abroad.
Sejm to Decide on Ziobro’s Immunity and Detention
The Sejm’s Procedural Committee will consider prosecution requests concerning Ziobro, including the request to lift his parliamentary immunity and authorize his arrest. A final decision is slated for the plenary session next week, with the court determining any resulting detention.
Investigation into Justice Fund Spending Involves Ziobro
In October, Prosecutor General Waldemar Żurek submitted a request to the Sejm marshal to lift Ziobro’s immunity and permit his temporary arrest over alleged misuse of funds from the Justice Fund. Investigators allege Ki does 26 crimes, including leading a criminal group, while Ziobro rejects the charges as fabricated.
