Municipalities Get Reprieve as 2025 Recycling Targets Lowered

Poland’s Ministry of Climate and Environment lowers 2025 recycling requirements for municipalities from 55% to 50%.

New Recycling Targets

The Ministry of Climate and Environment (MKiŚ) has announced a reduction in recycling requirements for municipalities for 2025, lowering the target from 55% to 50%. This change has been in effect since the middle of last year.

Reporting Deadlines

Municipal leaders, including mayors and city presidents, must submit waste management reports for 2025 to the voivode’s marshal and provincial environmental inspector by the end of March this year.

Penalties for Non-Compliance

Failing to meet the required recycling levels will result in penalties for municipalities that do not achieve the new 50% target.
