Murder of 11‑Year‑Old Danusia from Jelenia Góra. Funeral Date Revealed

City president announced on 17 December that the funeral of 11‑year‑old Danusia, murdered in Jelenia Góra, will be held on 20 December.

City President’s Statement

On 17 December, President Jerzy Łużniak informed the public that the burial of 11‑year‑old Danusia, murdered in the city, will take place on 20 December at the chapel in the Old Municipal Cemetery in Jelenia Góra. A one‑day period of mourning is also in effect for the city. City officials again urged organizers of any entertainment, cultural or sporting events to reconsider cancelling or postponing them. President Łużniak also requested that media respect the family’s privacy and refrain from attending the funeral.

Death of 11‑Year‑Old in Jelenia Góra

The girl died on Monday 15 December. Her body, with knife wounds, was found near Elementary School No. 10, which she attended. Investigators have identified a 12‑year‑old girl, a student at the same school, as a suspect in the crime.
