Today Budapest wants to be like Warsaw” – wrote Tusk on social media, referencing Jarosław Kaczyński’s 2011 remark about having “a Budapest in Warsaw.”

During the meeting, Magyar presented his colleague Anita Orban as “the future foreign minister of Hungary.” When joked about the shared name with Hungary’s current leader, Tusk replied jokingly, “My name is Donald.”
A More Difficult Situation Than Tusk
Magyar stated that if he wins Hungary’s April elections and becomes prime minister, he will be in a much more difficult situation than Tusk was when taking office in Poland. After fifteen years of Fidesz and Orban’s rule, Hungary’s situation with the EU is worse than Poland’s ever was under previous governments.
Praise for Poland’s Development Path
The Hungarian opposition leader praised Poland for its economic growth, contrasting with Hungary’s years of stagnation. Magyar previously announced that Warsaw would be his first foreign capital visit if he becomes prime minister, signaling a desire to follow Poland’s development model.
