Poland’s UOKiK agency may gain new online consumer protection tools under new EU regulations.
Regulatory Implementation
The document implements the European Parliament and Council Regulation (EU) 2017/2394 (CPC), which requires EU countries to grant consumer protection bodies minimum investigative and enforcement powers.
In Poland, these tasks fall to the President of UOKiK.
Mystery Consumer Program
UOKiK utilizes a “Mysterious Client” program to test market compliance with consumer protection regulations.
The agency also employs a data randomization machine to ensure fair and unbiased testing procedures.
