NASK Cyber Security Center Construction to Begin This Year

The NASK Cyber Security Center in Warsaw’s Praga-Północ district, a 360 million PLN investment funded largely by EU resources, is scheduled to commence construction this year with a 2029 completion target.

Strategic Infrastructure for Digital Defense

The new center, spanning over 7,700 square meters, aims to mitigate hacker attacks, strengthen national cyber defense, and provide essential infrastructure for artificial intelligence research. NASK Director Radosław Nielek emphasized that the facility is critical for both the future and the physical and digital security of Poland.

The facility will feature state-of-the-art laboratories dedicated to AI security, malicious software analysis, and fuzzing—an automated method for testing software resilience. Once completed, the center is expected to employ approximately 270 specialists.

Technological Upgrades and Data Protection

The project includes the deployment of a private cloud computing service, which will enable faster threat identification and enhanced protection for the data of millions of Polish citizens. Infrastructure upgrades for the CSIRT NASK team will involve modernizing networks and servers to support the increased demand for cyber incident response.

Through this new certification center, Poland will gain direct control over selecting projects for fuzzing tests, shifting reliance away from global market players. Additionally, the facility will facilitate advanced malware analysis, including rapid mobile threat detection and behavioral classification using GPUs and large language models.

Urban Development and Architectural Integration

Designed with four stories, the building’s architecture adheres to strict conservation guidelines to respect the neighboring 19th and 20th-century historical buildings. Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski noted that the facility serves as an economic catalyst for the Praga-Północ district, promising to attract technology firms and create high-quality jobs.

Deputy Minister of Digitization Paweł Olszewski confirmed that the project fulfills government priorities regarding cybersecurity. Beyond its primary defense functions, the center will also serve as an educational space, offering resources for experts and citizens interested in expanding their knowledge of digital safety.
