Nawrocki Associate Faces Forgery Charge; Denies All Allegations

Deputy head of President’s Office charged with directing forged documents in 2014 election, faces up to 5 years in prison.

Prosecutor’s Charges

Adam Andruszkiewicz, deputy head of the President’s Office, was charged by the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Lublin on Wednesday (February 11). The charge is that in 2014, “while being the leader of Młodzież Wszechpolska, he directed others to forge documents in the form of lists of persons supporting candidates nominated by the National Movement Electoral Committee in electoral district no. 3 in the elections to the Podlaskie Provincial Assembly.”

He did not admit to the alleged act but gave explanations. He faces up to five years in prison.

Investigation Background

The investigation into forging signatures on support lists for candidates nominated by the National Movement Voters’ Committee in local government elections to the Podlaskie Provincial Assembly began in 2014. The Provincial Electoral Commission in Białystok reported irregularities to the prosecutor’s office.

In 2019, the investigation was transferred to a team of prosecutors from the District Prosecutor’s Office in Lublin. Five years later, the case was again redirected, this time to the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Lublin. The investigation concerned 1,761 signatures from support lists.

Key Witness Testimony

The prosecutor’s office informed that nine people have been granted suspect status in the case. TVN24 established that one witness, Paweł P., who joined Młodzież Wszechpolska in 2014, testified about Andruszkiewicz’s involvement.

“Adam Andruszkiewicz and Wojciech N. told us present that we should rewrite the data of people from the monitors to empty support lists in the local government elections. After filling out the lists, we exchanged them and forged signatures,” P. stated in his testimony.

Andruszkiewicz’s Response

Andruszkiewicz wrote on the X platform: “12 years of detailed investigation, several graphological opinions, and despite media slanders – there are no charges of forging signatures. I said it! Thank you to those who believed in my innocence in this matter from the beginning.”

He stated that the charge was brought against him “for political purposes” and denied having ordered anyone to forge signatures, calling the accusation “a fairy tale pulled out of thin air used today as a political club.”
