Karol Nawrocki, Poland’s president, voiced support for the Poland 2050 tax proposal on April 16th, recalling a similar bill he introduced in August 2025.
Details of the Poland 2050 Proposal
Jan Szyszko, a state secretary in the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy, announced the submission of the project to the Sejm on Tuesday. The proposed law aims to prevent a tax increase for the middle class at year-end.
Szyszko stated the changes would take effect in 2027, costing 9 billion złoty, fully covered by increased excise taxes on alcohol and a digital tax.
Middle Class Tax Burden Highlighted
Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz emphasized that the middle class currently bears the heaviest tax burden.
Pełczyńska-Nałęcz stated on March 16th in TVP Info that Poland 2050’s proposal aims to alleviate the tax burden on the majority of people.
She further argued that a stable Poland requires a society where normal earners aren’t overburdened while the wealthiest avoid taxation through means like family foundations or flat-rate taxes.
Presidential “PIT Zero. Family Plus” Project
Karol Nawrocki’s proposal includes a zero PIT rate for families with two or more children and raising the second tax bracket to 140,000 złoty. He stressed the need for financial support for Polish families.
Nawrocki highlighted Poland’s demographic crisis, stating his commitment to supporting Polish families through PIT exemption for parents of two or more children, viewing it as a duty to the nation’s survival and independence.
