During a European Self-Government Congress interview, Nawrocki criticized Tusk and stated he doesn’t know PiS’s candidate for prime minister.
Nawrocki: Every Candidate Would Be Better Than Tusk
Polish President Karol Nawrocki, during an interview with journalist Dorota Gawryluk at the XI. European Self-Government Congress in Mikołajki, was asked if he knew the name of the PiS candidate for prime minister and whether he had been consulted on this matter.
Nawrocki responded that he does not know the name, has many tasks as president, and party politics “never interested him.” – Neither today, as I am the President of Poland, does it interest me – he added. However, he noted one thing he wants to say about a potential PiS candidate for prime minister.
– Regardless of who it will be, it will certainly be a better prime minister for the future than Donald Tusk – said the president.
Kaczyński: Decision on PiS Candidate Made
PiS President Jarosław Kaczyński said in January that he had already made a decision regarding the party’s candidate for prime minister in the context of upcoming parliamentary elections and believes that in March “this matter will be completely clear.”
Potential PiS Prime Minister Candidates
According to information obtained by PAP from PiS interlocutors, in February the list of potential candidates for the party’s prime minister included four people: current head of the Presidential Chancellery Zbigniew Bogucki; PiS Vice President, Deputy Przemysław Czarnek; Deputy Anna Krupka; and PiS MEP, Vice President of the party Tobiasz Bocheński.
