Nawrocki Meets Government Officials and Service Chiefs, Receives Reports

Polish President Nawrocki held a constructive meeting with government representatives and four service chiefs, discussing state security and officer nominations.

Meeting with Government Representatives

The meeting started after 12:00 and significantly prolonged. During the talks, issues related to state security and officer nominations were discussed. According to presidential spokesperson Rafał Leśkiewicz, “This meeting had a constructive and substantive character.”

President Nawrocki received reports from four service chiefs concerning the most important issues related to the security of Poland, particularly the identification of threats to state and citizen security. Leśkiewicz announced that such meetings will be held cyclically, and the Presidential Chancellery will more frequently receive information regarding internal and external security. Gen. Andrzej Kowalsky noted that a “new era in relations between the president and service chiefs” is beginning.

Breakthrough Regarding Officer Nominations?

During the meeting, the topic of officer nominations as well as promotions and decorations to be awarded in special services was discussed. President Nawrocki declared that applications submitted to him will be reviewed, and decisions will be based on information regarding the officials in question.

Ministry of National Defense’s Position After Meeting

MON head Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz stated, “We presented the President with information regarding state security and the development of services. We will apply for officer nominations in the services and we can more optimistically look at the President’s favor in this matter.”

Coordinator of special services Tomasz Siemoniak emphasized the willingness to cooperate with Nawrocki, stating, “If the Presidential Chancellery or the President himself has expectations to receive materials from the services in a different arrangement or on different topics, we are absolutely open.” Siemoniak added that the meeting was an opportunity to present information about special services’ activities, and a review of each service’s priorities was conducted.
