Nawrocki on the Czarzasty-Rose Conflict
President Karol Nawrocki commented on the conflict, stating it’s not pleasant when an ambassador disciplines Poland’s imperfect, post-communist Marshal of the Sejm. He added that it’s never good for Poland when the second person in the state is disciplined by an ambassador, suggesting any praise for this situation would disappoint observers.
Devastating Polish-American Relations
Nawrocki also criticized Marshal of the Sejm Włodzimierz Czarzasty for lacking imagination regarding international relations and doing everything to devastate Polish-American relations for petty party interests. He expressed a wish that Polish ambassadors would fight for their president, government, and ministers as much as Ambassador Rose does.
Controversial Statements by Tom Rose
In early February, Czarzasty announced he wouldn’t support the motion to award the Nobel Peace Prize to US President Donald Trump, citing Trump’s destabilizing policies toward international organizations. This statement drew a sharp reaction from US Ambassador Tom Rose, who announced breaking relations with the Marshal of the Sejm. When a user suggested Rose return to the USA, the ambassador asked if he should bring equipment and American soldiers with him.
