Nawrocki’s Approval Ratings Decline to Lowest Since Inauguration

A new poll indicates Polish President Karol Nawrocki’s negative approval ratings have reached a record high, coinciding with a veto on EU disarmament program SAFE.

Declining Presidential Approval

A StanPolityki.pl poll by OGB shows 47.4% of respondents approve of President Karol Nawrocki’s performance, a 1.4 percentage point decrease from February. Conversely, 38.9% disapprove, a 2.5 percentage point increase.

The percentage of respondents disapproving of the President is the highest since his inauguration in August 2025. 13.7% of respondents stated they had neither a positive nor negative opinion.

Negative Trend Confirmed

Łukasz Pawłowski, head of OGB, stated on X that the trend for President Nawrocki has been unequivocally negative since December, with rising negative assessments and falling positive ones.

Excluding undecided respondents, the President’s approval ratings are now at their lowest point since he took office. Among those with a firm opinion, 54.9% view him positively, while 45.1% view him negatively.

CBOS Trust Ranking

A CBOS poll conducted in March reveals that 52% of respondents trust President Karol Nawrocki (unchanged from February), while 35% do not (also unchanged).

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz ranks second in trust (46%), followed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski (44%).

Highest Distrust Levels

Grzegorz Braun, leader of the Confederation of Polish Crown, inspires the greatest distrust among respondents (58%), surpassing Jarosław Kaczyński, the PiS party leader (56%).

49% of those polled distrust former Prime Minister and PiS Vice-President Mateusz Morawiecki, and 48% distrust Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

Veto’s Limited Impact on Poll Results

Researchers noted that the poll was largely conducted before President Nawrocki’s veto of the law implementing the EU’s SAFE disarmament program and “did not bring significant changes to the social assessments of the politicians included in the study.”

The survey was conducted from March 5th to 15th on a representative sample of 1012 Polish adults selected from the PESEL registry, using a combination of CAPI (64.4%), CATI (20.2%), and CAWI (15.4%) methods.

Political Analyst Commentary

Dr. Mirosław Oczkoś commented that President Nawrocki is beginning to understand the realities of politics, which involve making decisions and accepting the consequences.

He added that the initial “honeymoon period” is over, and Nawrocki will now be held accountable for his decisions. He emphasized that a president cannot veto indefinitely.

Oczkoś also warned that reputation can be lost quickly, while building it takes time, and frequent errors can erode public trust.
