Nawrocki’s Security Meeting Excludes Cenckiewicz; Minister Confirms

President Karol Nawrocki met with defense minister and security chiefs on January 15 without the head of National Security Bureau.

Nawrocki Meets with Security Chiefs Without Cenckiewicz

On Thursday (January 15), President Karol Nawrocki met with Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Minister Tomasz Siemoniak, and heads of special services. According to TVN24 sources, Sławomir Cenckiewicz, head of the National Security Bureau (BBN), did not attend the meeting. Journalists at the station were told by their sources that “this may indicate that people close to the president acknowledge that Cenckiewicz no longer has access to classified information.”

Siemoniak Confirms: “Operating Without BBN Head”

Tomasz Siemoniak confirmed the absence of the head of the National Security Bureau. “The president decided who would attend. He simply wasn’t there. We didn’t comment on this in any way,” he said. Siemoniak added that given Cenckiewicz’s lack of access to classified information, the government “is cooperating with his deputies.” He stated that Cenckiewicz’s deputy, General Andrzej Kowalski, is the “partner” for discussions. “How he then contacts the head of the BBN, I don’t know. It’s operating without the head of the BBN,” he emphasized.

PiS MP: Tusk Dislikes Cenckiewicz

On TV Republika, Paweł Jabłoński commented on the matter. “Minister Cenckiewicz has certification and access to classified information, and the government is trying to take it away, that’s a bad practice,” said the PiS MP. “What’s the reason? Personal dislike for Minister Cenckiewicz. Donald Tusk doesn’t like him, because he was described by Professor Cenckiewicz both in the ‘Reset’ series and in the book ‘Zgoda,’ which describes in great detail (…) how Poland increasingly tightened its relations with Vladimir Putin’s regime,” the politician emphasized.
