Polish Sejm Marshal Włodzimierz Czarzasty announced he will submit Nawrocki’s veto of the crypto‑asset and “chain” laws to a committee and that the vote on the veto will take place.
Nawrocki Vetoes Crypto and Chain Laws
Karol Nawrocki vetoed the crypto‑asset law and the so‑called “chain” law. On Wednesday, Dec. 3, the decision was announced by Sejm Marshal Włodzimierz Czarzasty.
Czarzasty’s Response and Committee Referral
“I have taken the following decision: today I will give the veto to the press and refer the matter to a committee,” Czarzasty said. He added that the chain law would be sent to the extraordinary committee on animal protection.
Vote on the Veto Scheduled
Czarzasty said the veto “will be voted on” because the coalition considers the president’s decision to be the next action, which he described as “absolutely incomprehensible.” He stressed that the arguments presented to them and to the public do not convince them, and that the president should show more empathy.
Reaffirmed Opposition
“Absolutely we are saying ‘no’,” Czarzasty added, underscoring the committee’s hard line on the veto.
