Nawrocky Clothing Website Suffers Outage Amid Cyber Attacks

Polish President Karol Nawrocki’s clothing brand website is experiencing outages due to ongoing cyber attacks.

Technical Problems on the NOWROCKY Website

“We kindly apologize for current access difficulties to our website. Due to ongoing attacks and the use of external tools, the site’s functioning is disrupted. This causes temporary unavailability” – the “NOWROCKY” store service said on Tuesday.

“We are working intensively to solve the problem and making every effort to get the site back to full functionality as soon as possible” – they added.

Nawrocki and the Clothing Brand

President Karol Nawrocki in recent months has started appearing in public in clothes with the “NOWROCKY” logo. He wore a hat and t-shirt with this logo, among other times, on Saturday during a meeting with Polish athletes participating in the Winter Olympics in Italy.

As media reported a few days ago, an online store operates that sells clothing and gadgets with this logo. The assortment of this store also includes a book by Karol Nawrocki “Polska silna historią” (Poland Strong in History), and the products are advertised on social media using photos of the president.

Who Owns the NOWROCKY Brand?

The owner of the company to which the online store belongs is 33-year-old entrepreneur Maciej Bartasun, previously associated with the real estate and construction industries. The company’s plenipotentiary is Gdańsk lawyer Adam Soszyński, who admitted in an interview that he knows Karol Nawrocki and worked for the Museum of World War II.

Meanwhile, the “NOWROCKY” trademark was registered with the Patent Office by Karol Nawrocki’s sister.

Owner’s Official Statement

Maciej Bartasun in a statement conveyed that “the creation of the company and online store is a private initiative carried out by individuals and does not have official authorization from the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland.”

“Neither President Karol Nawrocki nor the Chancellery of the President are in any way related in a marketing or financial capacity to the activities of Nowrocky Sp. z o.o.” – he added. “All materials were previously published in the information systems of the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland, which, taking into account the instructions on the Chancellery’s website, in our opinion authorizes every citizen to use them regardless of purpose” – Bartasun noted.

Official Response from Presidential Office

“President Karol Nawrocki and the Chancellery of the President do not maintain any formal or informal relationship of a marketing or financial nature with the Nowrocky clothing brand” – President’s spokesman Rafał Leśkiewicz conveyed in an interview.

“President Karol Nawrocki or the Chancellery of the President do not interfere in the activities of a private business entity. The freedom to conduct economic activity is guaranteed by the constitution. The Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland does not comment on the private activities of the president’s sister” – he added.
