Neighborhood Officer Evacuates Residents After Apartment Fire

On Saturday, a neighborhood police officer in Warce evacuated 12 residents, including a child, from a fire that erupted in a multi‑family building.

Rapid Police Response

Before 8 a.m. on Saturday, the duty officer at Warce police station received a report of smoke from an apartment. A neighborhood officer, aware that children might be present, immediately went to the scene and notified the duty officer.

Immediate Evacuation Ordered

Assistant Officer Aneta Ścisłowska decided to evacuate the building immediately. Twelve people, including a 12‑year‑old boy, left the block. Shortly after, a second patrol helped in the evacuation.

Firefighters Contain Smoke

Firefighters from both volunteer and state services arrived quickly and performed firefighting and de‑smoking operations, as the smoke had spread through ventilation ducts to other apartments.

No Injuries Reported

Thanks to a resident’s vigilance and the efficient actions of the services, no one was injured. After ventilation, residents returned safely to their apartments.

Likely Cause and Previous Rescues

The probable cause of the fire was a short circuit. This is not the first intervention by Assistant Officer Ścisłowska; she has also rescued animals.
