Nestlé, the world’s largest food company, has dismissed CEO Laurent Freixe following an internal investigation into his undisclosed romantic relationship with a subordinate. The investigation, supported by an external law firm, found the relationship violated the company’s code of conduct.
40-Year Nestlé Veteran Replaced by Newly Appointed Chief
Freixe had been in the position for just one year, having spent nearly four decades with the corporation. He will be succeeded by Nespresso head Philipp Navratil, who joined Nestlé in 2001 as an internal auditor and played a “key role” in strengthening the brand.

Nestlé operates in 186 countries and manufactures a wide range of products, including infant nutrition, soluble coffee, ice cream, mineral water, and pet food. In Poland, where the company began operations in 1993 with Nescafé soluble coffee and Nesquik chocolate drink, its portfolio now comprises 1,600 products across 70 brands, with seven factories located in Kargowa, Kalisz, Rzeszów, Nałęczów, Nowa Wieś Wrocławska, Toruń, and Lubicz. Nestlé employs over 4,000 people in Poland across its main office in Warsaw and six R&D centers.
