Police Announce Investigation into 12‑Year‑Old’s Death

The City Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra reported that during ongoing proceedings a minor who may be connected to the death has been identified. Preliminary evidence points to homicide. The victim’s body was discovered at approximately 2:50 p.m. on Wyspiańskiego Street, close to Primary School No. 10 on Monday, 15 December.

Victim: A Promising Student

According to reports, the 12‑year‑old, who was described by her school principal as cheerful, academically excellent, and active in volunteer work, was found near the school’s entrance. She also participated in contests and sports competitions and was considered a well‑rounded student. The loss has been described by the principal as a great tragedy.

Suspect: A Classmate

Police have indicated that the suspect is a minor and a student of the same school, apparently a younger classmate of the victim. The “Gazeta Wrocławska” reports that the girl may have been killed by a classmate with whom she had previously quarried. The identity of the suspect has not yet been released.

Investigation Actions

The police and the district prosecutor’s office have been notified. Immediate and intensive procedures were undertaken at the scene under the prosecutor’s supervision, and evidence is being collected to clarify the circumstances of the incident. The authorities are committed to protecting the identities of the minors involved while providing psychological support to the victim’s classmates, teachers, and parents.
