Body discovered near school
On Monday, December 15, the body of an 11‑year‑old girl was found near a school in Jelenia Góra, Lower Silesia. The victim had clear injuries inflicted by a sharp instrument, and investigators secured a so‑called “finka” forensic sample.
12‑year‑old suspect arrested
A 12‑year‑old girl who attended the same school as the victim was detained by police in connection with the case.
Suspect questioned
The Family and Juvenile Division of the Jelenia Góra District Court approved an interview with the suspect in the afternoon. The officers have already spoken with the teen, and the case files will now be forwarded to the family court.
Deputy inspector Edyta Bagrowska said, “We have identified individuals who have information about the incident. There is an individual who told the police that they saw a fight between two girls.”
An autopsy of the 11‑year‑old will be carried out on Tuesday, with preliminary results expected by Wednesday morning.
Family and school mourning
The city president declared a day of mourning for the victim on the day of her funeral at Primary School No. 10. Officials requested that organizers of upcoming entertainment, cultural and sporting events observe due solemnity and respect the memory of the deceased.
