New Findings Regarding Human Remains Near the Sea – Police Receive Mysterious Call

Services have recovered additional human remains near the Szczecin waterfront, and police are seeking the individual who provided information about a certain man.

Further Human Remains Discovered

On Wednesday, August 13, the prosecutor’s office in Szczecin confirmed that more remains of a male were recovered. The remains will undergo a post‑mortem examination, with results expected to shed light on the circumstances of the incident. Investigators are treating the matter under Article 162, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code, which addresses the failure to provide assistance to a person in danger of life or health.

Throughout the investigation, police are also looking for the person who called the emergency line and reported a “man falling into the water.”

Do the Remains Belong to the Missing?

According to sources, it is possible that the victim is a man who jumped into the water on the night of August 8 near the Centrum ferry crossing. The theory would explain why the body was found in fragments, potentially damaged by a screw from one of the vessels. Investigators emphasize that, at this stage, they cannot definitively confirm whether the found remains belong to a single person – the missing individual.

Macabre Discovery in Świnoujście

The first remains were found by a Świnoujście resident on Tuesday, August 12 on Władysława IV Street. Police officers and the “Magda” vessel crew from the Szczecin Maritime Office were promptly dispatched. “According to the eyewitness, before the authorities arrived, part of the body was drifting along the quay, and birds were lapping it,” reported the portal iswinoujscie.pl.
