New Function in mObywatel: Government Introduces Digital Crisis Guide

Polish government launches digital safety guide within mObywatel app to help citizens respond to crisis situations and health threats.

New Safety Guide Feature

The mObywatel government application has been updated to version 4.75.0, introducing a new service called “Safety Guide.” This module is designed to provide citizens with verified information on responding to crisis situations and health and life threats. The content is based on official government publications developed by state security and medical rescue experts.

Five Special Categories

The architecture of the new service is based on five main thematic categories to facilitate navigation in high-stress conditions: emergency procedures, evacuation backpack preparation, alarm signals, integrated SOS contacts, and civil defense information. Each section contains specific guidelines for procedures that should be implemented when an extraordinary event occurs.

Evacuation Backpack Module

One key element of the service is a module dedicated to preparing an evacuation backpack. Users have access to an interactive checklist divided into subcategories such as food, documents, first-aid kit, and tools, allowing for systematic compilation of necessary equipment.

Alarm Signals Section

In the alarm signals section, a function for playing warning sounds has been implemented, aimed at educating users on recognizing messages transmitted by city sirens in various threat scenarios.

Integrated SOS Numbers

A key element for quick reaction is the integrated list of SOS numbers. It includes not only standard rescue numbers but also technical emergency services (gas, energy, water and sewage), crisis management centers, and psychological support hotlines for children and adults. The application allows for direct connection from the interface using a dedicated button.

Access Requirements

Access to the Safety Guide is subject to specific formal requirements. The service is visible to adults who have an active mDowód certificate, student ID, or Diia.pl document. The process to activate the module requires logging into the application, navigating to the “Services” section, and selecting the “Security” category. The system also allows downloading lists of items in PDF format and setting reminders for periodic review of emergency supplies.
