New Info on Sławomir Cenckiewicz: SKW Head Moves

On December 16, the spokesperson for Poland’s Special Forces Minister announced that the Military Counterintelligence Service has transferred all investigative files on Sławomir Cenckiewicz to the proper appellate authority.

SKW Statement on Cenckiewicz Case

On Tuesday, December 16, Jacek Dobrzyński, the spokesperson for the Minister and Co‑ordinator of Special Services, posted on social media that due to reports of a purported leak of data allegedly derived from the investigative or control proceedings concerning Sławomir Cenckiewicz, the Military Counterintelligence Service (SKW) has already handed over all investigative and control files to the appropriate appellate bodies in August 2024. He added that since November 2024, those files have been in exclusive jurisdiction of administrative courts handling appeals.

Dobrzyński further highlighted that, “regardless of the above,” the head of the SKW has ordered an urgent enquiry to clarify the situation.

Interior Minister Denies Leaks from Polish Services

On the same day, television host Marcin Kierwiński questioned the Minister of Interior and Administration on RMF FM regarding the same matter, to which the minister responded that such allegations are unsubstantiated and that no information of this nature has come from Polish services.

The minister reiterated his confidence in the professionalism of Polish special forces officers and dismissed the claim that Sławomir Cenckiewicz or other alleged political figures from the Presidential Palace were at war with the intelligence services.

Background of the Allegations

Gaza Wyborcza reported on Monday that towards the end of October, an informer came to the newsroom claiming to know details of a security questionnaire completed by Cenckiewicz. The message included names of drugs he was supposedly concealing and suggested that he lost access to secret information as a result.

The newspaper noted that while the mere use of psychotropic medication is not disqualifying, the concealment of this fact during a security clearance process is problematic.

Official Response to Media Queries

The SKW spokesperson emphasized that all records have been submitted to the appellate authorities and that no new investigations are currently underway beyond what has already been handed over to the courts.

The investigation remains under the jurisdiction of the appropriate administrative court, with no indications of further inquiry at this time.
