Refusal to Plead Guilty
The 49-year-old man, suspected of attacking two people in a single-family home on Warsaw’s Targówek, has not pleaded guilty. Warsaw-Praga Regional Prosecutor’s Office spokesperson Karolina Staros informed TVN24 that proceedings with the suspect took place Thursday after 12:00 PM.
The man was charged with two counts of murder and killing three domestic animals. According to the prosecutor, the suspect denied the charges attributed to him and refused to provide any explanations. The 49-year-old faces a potential life sentence.
Discovery of Bodies
On Wednesday, January 28, the bodies of two people were found in a house on Pszczyńska Street in Warsaw. Following negotiations, police detained the 49-year-old who had barricaded himself inside. Counter-terrorists were also involved in the operation at the scene.
Victim Identification
Negotiators attempted to convince the man to leave the building, but when he did not respond, authorities decided to storm the residence. Police confirmed the tragic discovery of two bodies – a woman and a man – in the house.
The Warsaw-Praga Regional Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that the victims found in the house are the parents of the 49-year-old suspect.
