Night Fire in Warsaw Tenement Attic; 7 Fire Brigades Responded

A fire broke out in the attic of a tenement house in central Warsaw early on February 6th, with 7 fire brigades responding to the blaze.

Fire Incident

On the night of February 6 in Śródmieście (city center), there was a fire in the attic of a tenement house at Aleje Jerozolimskie, at the height of Pankiewicza Street. The fire covered about 20 m² of the roof covering, and during the firefighting operations, the lane in the direction of Praga was completely blocked.

Emergency Response

A report about smoke from the attic came to the services at 00:52. After arriving at the scene, firefighters confirmed a fire in the attic of a building in a compact development. About 20 m² of the roof covering was burning.

Firefighting Operations

Two mechanical ladders were used for extinguishing. Firefighters deployed two water streams to attack the burning structure. After bringing the fire under control, they began minor demolition work and pouring water on roof elements.

Aftermath

The area was thoroughly checked with a thermal camera to rule out the presence of fire embers. No one was injured in the incident, and there was no need to evacuate residents of the tenement house.

Traffic and Security

Fire brigade operations ended at 03:02. During the firefighting operation, Aleje Jerozolimskie in the direction of Praga were completely blocked, and police patrols secured the scene.
