At about 06:30 Kyiv time on Tuesday, Ukrainian authorities warned of a missile threat from a MiG‑31K aircraft carrying hard‑to‑detect hypersonic Kindzhal missiles.
Explosion in Kyiv
Around 07:00 a missile struck Kyiv, producing an explosion. Live‑stream updates from the Kyiv Military Administration said air‑defence forces were working to neutralise the danger above the capital.
Drone and Missile Activity Across Ukraine
Previously, Russia struck Ukrainian territory with ballistic and maneuvering missile drones. An air‑raid alert was issued nationwide, and the attacks targeted the energy system.
Casualties and Damage in Capital
In the night attacks on the capital, nine people, including a child, were killed; seven were wounded, and three were taken to hospitals, Kyiv mayor Vitaliy Kliczko reported.
Warnings for Residents
The Air Forces announced that missiles were approaching Kyiv and the surrounding region from the east and urged residents to stay in shelters.
Possible Intensification of Attacks
Ukrainian officials warned that Russia could increase air assaults in the coming days, possibly linked to peace talks, and that recent strikes on energy infrastructure were causing multi‑hour outages.
