Nighttime Roadworks to Disrupt Traffic at Central Station

Road crews will begin asphalt repairs near Warsaw’s Central Station on Monday, May 25, starting with Emilii Plater Street followed by Al. Jerozolimskie, with work occurring over two consecutive nights in each location.

Asphalt Repairs on Emilii Plater

Construction begins on the night of Monday, May 25, shortly after midnight. Near the Congress Hall, the road will be narrowed to two lanes and later to one. At the intersection with Al. Jerozolimskie, drivers will only be permitted to turn right.

The pedestrian crossing and bicycle lane on Emilii Plater at Al. Jerozolimskie, located on the side of the Palace of Culture and Science and Central Station, will be closed. Disruptions are scheduled until 5:00 a.m. each morning, with all lanes reopening during the day. Paving work concludes by 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday.

Bus Route Modifications

On Tuesday, May 26, bus lines 117 and 507 will terminate and depart from the Dworzec Centralny 02 and 06 stops on Al. Jerozolimskie. Lines 131, 520, and 521 will be diverted via Emilii Plater, Świętokrzyska, Marszałkowska, and Rondo Dmowskiego.

Night bus lines N22, N24, N25, N31, N33, N37, N42, N72, N81, and N83 will follow modified routes near Central Station for the duration of the work.

Milling and Paving on Al. Jerozolimskie

Milling work between Emilii Plater and Rondo Czterdziestolatka starts Wednesday, May 27, at 11:00 p.m. On the lane toward Ochota, two middle lanes will be cordoned off, though right turns, left turns, and straight travel will remain possible via one lane.

Two right lanes at Central Station will be closed, forcing traffic closer to the tram tracks. Access to the parking lot in front of Central Station will be blocked until 6:00 a.m. Thursday. A final round of asphalt laying is scheduled from 11:00 p.m. Thursday to 6:00 a.m. Friday.

Detours for Public Transit

On Thursday, May 28, buses 131, 520, and 525 will enter the Central Station loop via Emilii Plater, Świętokrzyska, and Al. Jana Pawła II to the tunnel behind Złota Street. The Al. Jerozolimskie stop in front of Central Station will be relocated before the intersection with Emilii Plater.
