A massive collision involving nine passenger cars occurred near Łódź on the S8 motorway. Firefighters had to extract several occupants, and the incident involved three fire‑rescue teams from the Łódź Voivodeship State Fire Service. In total, 16 people were inside the vehicles, including children aged 4 to 10 and two 35‑year‑old women. Five individuals were treated for injuries.

Both Lanes Blocked on S8 Toward Warsaw

At approximately 14:30 on Friday, an S8 collision near Przewodowice in Rawicz County, heading toward Warsaw, forced both traffic lanes to close. Police dispatched a detour through the nearby town of Julianów and urged motorists to follow signage and official instructions.

Policeman Issues Road Safety Warning in Łódź

Earlier in the day, the Łódź Voivodeship Police Department warned on social media that snow and freezing drizzle could create treacherous, slushy conditions on roads. The alert urged drivers to keep their foot off the gas, increase following distance, and avoid abrupt maneuvers.
