Notarial wills have grown significantly in popularity, with a 44% increase in people choosing this form of expressing their last will between 2019 and 2025.
Statistical Growth
The popularity of notarial wills is growing year by year. According to data from the National Notary Council, in 2019, 143,870 people chose this form of expressing their last will, and in 2025 this number increased to 207,293 – which is 44% more.
An even greater increase can be seen in the Notarial Register of Wills. In 2019, 42,369 documents were registered there, and in 2025 already 118,146, which represents an increase of as much as 179%.
Motivations Behind the Trend
These numbers indicate that more and more people are aware that statutory inheritance does not always reflect the actual will of the testator.
Many people also want to spare their loved ones uncertainty, formalities and potential disputes after their death.
