Officer Nominations Dispute: Tusk Demands Apologies, Note Unveiled

Donald Tusk announced on Friday that Karol Nawrocki had halted the promotion of 136 personnel to the first officer rank in the ABW and SKW. Tusk accuses the move of undermining the president’s authority.

Minister Siemoniak Responds

Tomasz Siemoniak, the minister coordinating special services, posted a note on Sunday, accusing the president of a “spectacular show” and urging officials to apologise to the officers and to finalize the nominations with the president’s signature.

Tusk reiterated his appeal on X, condemning ministerial interviews, presidential videos, and media circus, and insisting that an apology be issued without delay. He stated that time still allows for resolution.

Rumors of Security Clearance Issues

Unconfirmed reports from RMF FM suggest the president’s decision to deny promotion may relate to a revoked security clearance for the president’s minister by the chief of the Military Counter‑Intelligence Service. The ABW decision reportedly stems from doubts about the agency’s involvement in the last presidential campaign and a leak regarding a private apartment case.
