Polish Olympic boxing gold medalist Marian Kasprzyk has died at age 86, his club announced Tuesday.

Bielski Klub Bokserski Beskidy confirmed the death of former boxer Marian Kasprzyk on Tuesday, February 3. “With regret, we inform you that an outstanding athlete has departed, who will remain forever in our memory,” the club stated on Facebook.
Kasprzyk was 86 years old at the time of his death.
Olympic Achievements
Sports journalist Piotr Jagiełło confirmed the death of the former boxer. “Very sad news. Marian Kasprzyk, a legend of our boxing, has died at the age of 86,” Jagiełło wrote on X.
Kasprzyk was an Olympic gold medalist from 1964 in Tokyo and a bronze medalist from 1960 in Rome. He was described as “one of the great masters” of coach Papa Stamm and “one of the greatest boxers in our history.”
Boxing Career
Throughout his career, Kasprzyk fought 270 bouts, winning 232. He represented Poland at the Olympic Games in 1960, 1964, and 1968.
After retiring from competition, Kasprzyk remained involved in boxing, working as a trainer, notably in the Bielsko-Biała club.
