Orban Attacks Zelensky: “You Are a Man in a Desperate Situation”

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban criticized Ukrainian President Zelensky in a social media post on Thursday.

Strong Words from Orban to Zelensky

On Thursday (January 22), Viktor Orban published a post in which he addressed “the honorable president” Volodymyr Zelensky. “It seems to me that we will not be able to reach an agreement. I am a free man who serves the Hungarian nation. You are a man in a desperate situation, who for the fourth year in a row is unable or unwilling to end the war – even though the President of the United States has given him all possible assistance,” Orban wrote.

Orban stated that “no matter how much you flatter me, we cannot support your war efforts.” He added that Hungary would continue to supply electricity and fuel to Ukraine and support refugees from Ukraine, saying “Life itself will resolve the rest and everyone will get what they deserves.”

Zelensky-Trump Meeting in Davos

On the same day in Davos, a meeting between Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump took place in the margins of the World Economic Forum. The topic was reportedly a possible peace treaty and Ukraine’s reconstruction plan.

Donald Trump had earlier said that “both Russia and Ukraine are seeking to reach an agreement.” Steve Witkoff emphasized that “negotiations have entered a decisive phase” and traveled to Moscow to meet with Vladimir Putin.
