Ukraine launched over 100 drones at Moscow in two days; Russia claims to have shot down dozens.
Drone Attacks on Moscow
According to Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, over 100 drones were shot down in two days, with further waves of long-range kamikaze drones intercepted by air defense as they approached the city.
The Russian Ministry of Defense, cited by Russian media, reported that at least 145 drones were shot down over the country overnight, including 53 over the Moscow region.
Russia’s civil aviation authority stated that main airports in Moscow imposed flight restrictions due to the attacks. Ukrainian authorities have not yet confirmed conducting the strikes.
Zelensky on Russian Spring Offensive
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russia’s spring offensive has already failed, as it was planned in full for early spring. He noted that while the war has evolved, Russia has not taken major breaks.
Zelensky emphasized that the first year of the war saw endurance until winter due to the lack of offensive actions then, but now “everything has changed.” He added that a meeting with the U.S. president is needed, as “many matters are stalled.”
Zelensky Proposes Drone Deal with U.S.
Zelensky expressed a desire to sign agreements with the U.S. for drone production worth $35-50 billion, noting Ukraine had such production capabilities and proposing the deal nearly a year ago without receiving a response.
Trump on Strait of Hormuz
U.S. President Donald Trump called on allies to take action to open the Strait of Hormuz. He also stated he might postpone his visit to China if Beijing does not support the U.S.
