Over 1,500 Unused Vehicles Illegally Registered in Poland

Polish police arrested seven individuals suspected of corruption and forgery related to the registration of over 1,500 vehicles never used in Poland.

Organized Crime Ring Busted

Police from the Warsaw Capital Police’s Anti-Corruption Department detained seven people suspected of involvement in an organized crime group. The group allegedly engaged in bribery, accepting financial benefits, and forgery.

The scheme involved falsifying documents related to vehicle registration and conducting fictitious technical inspections.

Vehicles Registered, Then Exported to Italy

Over 1,500 vehicles were registered in Poland with fraudulent technical inspections. Authorities determined that none of these vehicles were ever operated within Poland, but were instead used in Italy.

Italian Nationals Established Polish Companies

According to police, Italian citizens established companies in Poland with appointed representatives. These representatives commissioned diagnostic tests for cars purchased in Italy.

Based on documents issued by the diagnosticians, the cars were registered in Poland, and the Polish license plates were then transferred to Italy.

Group Operated Across Poland and Italy

Police investigations revealed that the group operated in various locations throughout Poland and Italy, offering bribes to officials to facilitate the fraudulent registrations.
