Over 500 Buildings Without Heat in Major Warsaw Heating Breakdown

Heating failure in Warsaw’s Ursus and Włochy districts will leave 549 buildings without heating until Thursday morning.

Heating Network Breakdown in Warsaw

A heating network failure located at Lechicka 12 in Warsaw has necessitated repairs to a section of the network, resulting in temporary suspension of heat supply to 549 buildings in the Ursus and Włochy districts. The interruption will be in effect from Wednesday, February 4, at 9:30 AM to Thursday, February 5, at 6:00 AM.

Duration of Repair Work

According to Veolia Energia Warszawa S.A., the breakdown occurred in the Włochy district in the Lechicka street area. A 600 mm diameter heating main supplying Ursus and Włochy was damaged. The planned power outage is from February 4, 2026, at 9:26 AM to February 5, 2026, at 6:00 AM (scheduled completion time, but earlier completion of work is possible).

Continuous Repair Operations

After locating the breakdown site, work was scheduled for periods of higher air temperatures to minimize the inconvenience of the outage. Repairs will be conducted continuously to restore heat supply to residents as quickly as possible.

Schools and Kindergartens Without Heating

Some schools and kindergartens are also affected by this breakdown. Kindergarten No. 343 “Na Miodowej Górce” issued a special message to parents: “Due to the heating network breakdown in Ursus, there will be no heat and hot water until tomorrow at 6:00 AM. Therefore, if possible, we ask you to pick up your children earlier today. Tomorrow’s carnival ball will take place as scheduled. If necessary, the rooms will be heated with air conditioners tomorrow morning.”
