Overwhelming Poll Results: Poles Asked About Zbigniew Ziobra

A recent poll shows 52% of Poles believe the government should bring Zbigniew Ziobra back to Poland to face charges despite his asylum in Hungary.

Poll Shows Majority Support Government Action on Ziobro

In the latest poll conducted by Opinia24 for RMF FM, respondents were asked whether the government should take further action to bring Zbigniew Ziobra back to Poland and put him on trial, despite the politician having obtained asylum in Hungary.

52% of respondents chose the affirmative answer, with 35% saying “definitely yes” and 17% “rather yes”. 22% are against, with 11% saying “definitely no” and the other half “rather no”. 26% of respondents have no opinion on the matter. The survey was conducted on January 12-14.

Strongest Support Among Older, Educated Poles and Opposition Voters

The poll showed that the strongest support for further government action came from people over 60 years old – 57% of them support bringing Ziobra back to Poland. 56% of people with higher education also agree. Slightly more women than men support further action – 53% of female respondents.

The strongest support for bringing Ziobra back comes from voters of the Civic Coalition – 92%.

Hungarian Authorities Refuse to Comment on Asylum Decision

We asked the Hungarian Ministry of Interior for details about Zbigniew Ziobra’s asylum. The Hungarian National Directorate for the Police of Aliens provided a brief response. “We inform you that due to strict personal data protection regulations governing asylum procedures, we will not disclose any information…” was conveyed.

Let us recall that in recent days, both the former minister of justice and his wife Patrycja Kotecka-Ziobro received asylum in Hungary.
