On Friday, the Sosnowiec District Prosecutor’s Office submitted a criminal complaint to the Sosnowiec Regional Court, charging parish priest Jacek K. with nine sexual offences spanning 2008‑2024.
Indictment Filed
The indictment was sent to the Sosnowiec Regional Court on Friday. Prosecutor Bartosz Kilian explained that priest Jacek K. faces accusations for nine sexual crimes and possession of pedophilic material.
Nine Acts Harming Seven Victims
The priest was detained on 1 October of the previous year. Initially, he was charged with two offences against sexual freedom and child protection, but subsequent investigations uncovered additional victims. In total, nine criminal acts were confirmed against seven people.
The alleged crimes took place between 2008 and 2024, in locations where the accused served as a clergyman and taught religion.
Exploiting Vulnerability
Evidence indicates that Jacek K. molested minors, often taking advantage of their helplessness and difficult life situations. In several instances, the offender used a coercive relationship of dependency to facilitate sexual assault.
The search of his residence yielded numerous digital devices. Forensic computer specialists discovered large collections of graphic files and videos constituting child pornography, which formed the basis of the tenth charge.
Potential Sentence up to 30 Years
Accusatory evidence includes testimony from dozens of witnesses, documents seized from the Diocesan Office, medical records, school materials, and expert investigations in computer forensics, genetics, psychology, voice analysis, and psychiatric‑sexological evaluation.
Since his arrest, the priest remains in temporary custody and faces a combined sentence of up to 30 years in prison.
