Approximately 50-year-old man dies in Warsaw tram on Grójecka Street after emergency responders attempt resuscitation.
Incident Details
On Sunday, February 22, at 3:27 PM at Grójecka Street at Banach on Ochota, a tragic incident occurred in a tram. Despite resuscitation efforts, an approximately 50-year-old passenger died.
Emergency Response
From preliminary findings, passengers alerted the driver about a man collapsing in the vehicle. The tram was stopped at the nearest stop and emergency services were called. Medical rescue teams performed CPR for dozens of minutes.
Despite prolonged resuscitation, the man’s life could not be saved. Police and Warsaw Tramways traffic supervision were also at the scene.
Traffic Disruption
Due to the rescue operation, tram traffic in the Grójecka Street area was temporarily blocked. Traffic resumed around 5:10 PM. The circumstances of the incident were being investigated at the scene by police, ZRM, and Warsaw Tramways traffic supervision.
Service Updates
Warsaw Tramways reported disruptions on lines 1, 9, and 15. For technical reasons, these tram lines heading in the direction of P+R Al.Krakowska from the intersection of Grójecka/Banacha have been shortened to the BANACH terminal.
Communication substitution is being launched on the route: Pl.Narutowicza 02 – Grójecka – Al.Krakowska – P+R Al.Krakowska.
