Passengers Detail Train Knife Attack: People Cowering, Attackers Acting Manic

On 1 November a London North Eastern Railway train from Doncaster to London King’s Cross was attacked by two knife‑wielding men, prompting a rapid police response at Huntingdon.

Passenger Account of the Attack

Sky News correspondent Gurpreet Narwan described some passenger accounts as “really terrifying,” noting that people were huddling and others hiding in toilets. A passenger named Gavin reported seeing injured individuals, one of whom claimed, “They had a knife, I was stabbed.”

Chaos on the Moving Train

Witnesses recounted frantic attempts to escape, fighting through carriages to reach the rear. Bloodied passengers struggled as the train was forced to halt, leaving the wounded lying on the floor. A 19‑year‑old named Tom described seeing many people disembark drenched in blood.

Attackers’ Profiles

Police arrested two men, aged 32 and 35, both born in the United Kingdom; one was black, the other of Caribbean descent. The attackers, armed with a large knife, tracked a passenger group and moved “as if possessed.” They left the train while still holding the knife before being stopped by officers.

Police and Medical Response at Huntingdon

At Huntingdon, emergency services dispatched ambulances to the unexpected stop. Eleven passengers were taken to hospital; nine were in life‑threatening condition. Two remained in critical condition after several hours of treatment.

Outcome and Investigative Findings

Police confirmed no indication of terrorism and praised the crew for safely diverting the train. The incident highlights ongoing concerns about knife crime on public transport.
