Filing of the Rape Complaint
The case concerns events in August 2023, when Paulina K. visited the Gliwice City Police Headquarters to report a rape she claimed to have suffered. She identified a specific suspect and, to reinforce her account, deleted text messages from her phone that had previously been exchanged with the man. Subsequent investigation revealed that she had fabricated the allegation and that the named suspect was innocent.
Court Verdict for False Accusation
In March, the Gliwice District Court found Paulina K. guilty of making a false accusation and providing false testimony. She was sentenced to eight months of imprisonment, suspended for three years, and placed under probationary supervision. Additionally, the court ordered her to pay the victim 15 000 PLN in damages and to publish the judgment publicly for a period of three months. Paulina K. appealed, but the Gliwice Regional Court upheld the original decision in September.
