Paweł Kukiz has alleged that Minister Zbigniew Ziobro orchestrated a meeting to pressure him into using the Justice Fund for political gain, a claim met with denials from party leaders.

Constituent Paweł Kukiz said that during a discussion with Minister Ziobro, former Kukiz’15 party member Stanisław Tyszka offered him a plan to divert the Justice Fund for political purposes. Kukiz acknowledged a meeting had taken place but denied that he ever reviewed any proposal that would direct public money toward personal promotion.

After the meeting, Kukiz reported that Tyszka exited the room angry, telling him, “Let’s get out of here – these are thieves.” Kukiz said he would reject any use of public funds for personal marketing, noting that such practice is an ongoing problem in Polish politics.

Tyszka confirmed that the proposed use of the Justice Fund was declined. In response, Minister‑in‑the‑Making Janusz Kowalski called Tyszka a liar, threatened legal action, and claimed he would file a criminal indictment under Article 212 of the Penal Code for defamation.
PiS MP Cezary Tomczyk added that he will report possible criminal acts committed by Janusz Kowalski and other accompanying politicians during the meeting.
Funds for Justice scandal: Ziobro loses immunity
The prosecutor’s office is investigating Ziobro for alleged irregularities in disbursing Justice Fund money and suspects up to 26 crimes, including involvement in an organized crime group. The Sejm removed Ziobro’s parliamentary immunity on 7 November, permitting his arrest and provisional detention.
Eleven charges have already been presented against former Deputy Minister Marcin Romanowski. In December last year, Romanowski received political asylum in Hungary.
