A woman was hospitalized on Monday, May 25, after being hit by a tram heading toward Żoliborz at the Andersa Street stop near Plac Bankowy at approximately 3:15 PM.
The Incident at the Crossing
The collision occurred at the pedestrian crossing near the Plac Bankowy tram stop. Preliminary reports indicate the woman was crossing on a green signal as the tram was leaving the intersection.
Early findings suggest the tram may have been operating against a red light, though police are continuing to investigate the exact circumstances of the incident.
Emergency Response and Transport
A medical rescue team was dispatched to the scene. The victim received immediate on-site assistance before being transported to a hospital.
Traffic Disruption and Normalization
Tram traffic on Andersa Street was blocked, forcing lines 15, 16, and 18 to operate on diverted routes via Al. Solidarności, Al. Jana Pawła II, and Stawki. Normal traffic flow began to resume around 4:20 PM.
