The fatal incident occurred in the Old Granary at Dworcowa Street in Pelplin, Tczew County, Pomeranian Voivodeship, on the night of 5–6 December. A son called the police, suspecting his father might be inside the building.
The son’s call proved correct – the 56‑year‑old man was found dead, and investigators also discovered dozens of barrels containing chemical substances.
Emergency Response
The scene was immediately taken over by officers from the operational and investigative unit, who carried out necessary procedural actions under the supervision of a prosecutor.
Specialists from a chemical platoon of Gdynia firefighters and police counter‑terrorism units were also dispatched to the site.
Investigation Findings
The body was secured for a forensic autopsy to determine the cause of death, with all actions aimed at clarifying the circumstances of the event.
