Emergency services extinguished a roof fire at a primary school in the Masovian Voivodeship on Thursday, May 28, after approximately 90 students and staff were successfully evacuated without any reported injuries.
Emergency Response Operations
The fire engulfed approximately 80 square meters of the school’s roof. Emergency services were alerted at 1:18 PM on Thursday, May 28, and managed to extinguish the blaze within an hour.
The operation involved five firefighting units, two hydraulic platforms, and one drone, as confirmed by Junior Captain Karolina Jaworska of the State Fire Service in Warsaw.
Evacuation and Safety Status
Police reported that approximately 90 people, including students and school staff, were safely evacuated from the building. There were no injuries, and no medical assistance was required at the scene.
Investigation into Photovoltaic Systems
Senior Sergeant Elżbieta Dąbrowska of the Grójec County Police stated that the fire was most likely caused by the ignition of photovoltaic panels on the roof. Authorities are currently conducting a detailed investigation to determine the specific circumstances of the incident.
